People are creatures of habit. Microphone choice and placement for live sound is a prime example of this. This workshop is a good introduction to the world of live sound microphone techniques for novice and experienced users with theoretical and listening examples.
We often see sound engineers position microphones in typical ways, because “that’s how it’s always been done”, but there’s a whole world of other possibilities waiting to be explored, and many different roads to sonic nirvana...
This workshop will unveil how DPA Microphones are uniquely constructed, and can be used in applications you maybe never imagined before. With practical experiments and listening examples in a real-life setup, you will discover how to shape a fresh live sound with minimal efforts, breaking the habits.
Rune Slot from DPA Microphones Education and Application Support will lead this workshop. He’s also an A-level FOH engineer in Denmark, with years of experience working with DPA in real-life situations.
The workshop will be in English and will run from 10.00 until 16.30.
