Aan Colin Benders de eer op 17 oktober in de Melkweg het Amsterdam Dance Event te openen met een concert van hem en zijn modular met het Metropole Orkest. Tijdens ADE Soundlab doet hij ook een Studio XL sessie. Daar gaat hij de workflow met zijn modulaire systeem behandelen: de modular als totaalinstrument! Ter gelegenheid van deze wapenfeiten hebben we Colin Benders geïnterviewd. Lees het in Interface 222, oktober 2018!

Experiment: voor elke modular een aparte speaker
Het comment van Benders zelf bij deze Youtube-video: 'What would electronic music sound like if each voice had an individual speaker? This thought triggered a big trial and error experiment including a bunch of speakers and voices. This video is a very first result of that. the experiment is still ongoing and will be performed live this year at the Holland Festival in Amsterdam. Ultimately I am hoping to achieve a somewhat acoustic experience of electronic music. There's still a LOT of work to do but the first results sound promising. For this recording we attempted to capture the room in an ambisonic environment. not too sure it worked out as expected, but it does give you an idea. Main bottleneck of the experience is my modular system. will be working on expanding for this purpose quite a bit.'
