Après trois ans d’absence, l’OVNI @djangodjango dans Ground Control avec son cinquième album Off Planet.
Le monde des objets volants se divise en deux : d’un côté ceux qui ont été identifiés, de l’autre ce que ne l’ont pas été, les OVNI. Et bien il en va de même pour les objets musicaux : il y a ceux que l’on peut classer dans une genre déterminé, et les autres. C’est à cette deuxième catégorie qu’appartient l’oeuvre de Django Django.
Formé à Londres en 2009 autour de Dave McLean et Vinny Neff, Django Django est un condensé des innombrables influences de ses fondateurs. Gardant toujours un pied dans la musique club, leurs compositions n’hésitent en revanche jamais à aller lorgner du côté de l’indie rock, du psyché ou encore du breakbeat pour façonner un son qui leur est caractéristique.
Et force est de constater que la recette fonctionne car du haut de sa discographie, Django Django n’a jamais donné l’impression de se répéter. C’est même plus inspirés que jamais que nous revient la bande à McLean et Neff en 2023 avec un cinquième album Off Planet. Un nouvel objet discographique non identifié de 21 titres divisés en 4 parties qu’ils nous présentent sur la scène de Ground Control. On vous embarque dans la soucoupe ?
