Geluidstechnicus Coen Thomas, bekend van André Rieu Studios, legt op 31 januari tijdens een workshop uit hoe hij het geluid van de grote concerten vastlegt en hoe zijn methode verschilt van de klassieke opnametechnieken voor orkest.

Coen Thomas werkt al meer dan 15 jaar bij André Rieu Studios en heeft in die tijd een enorme ervaring opgebouwd in het opnemen van instrumenten, individueel en als een compleet orkest. Zijn manier van opnemen is anders dan de standaard orkestopnametechnieken en vertoont veel overlap met de bandopnametechnieken in de studio. Hij legt in een workshop uit hoe hij het resultaat dat hij wil bereiken realiseert door de verschillende manieren van werken te combineren. Daarnaast geeft hij ook inzicht in de verschillende manieren waarop hij producties mixt. Hij zal het verschil laten zien tussen een mix voor CD, voor live uitzending en voor cinema, en waar de nadruk moet liggen.
Certificering: Een aanwezigheidscertificaat is op aanvraag verkrijgbaar.

Na ontvangst van het inschrijfformulier ontvangen de deelnemers een schriftelijke bevestiging. Indien u niet in staat bent de workshop bij te wonen, gelieve Amptec hiervan vóór aanvang van de workshop schriftelijk op de hoogte te stellen.
Indien de workshop om organisatorische redenen wordt afgelast, zal Amptec de deelnemers hiervan uiteraard tijdig op de hoogte brengen.
Amptec behoudt zich het recht voor om wijzigingen en aanvullingen aan te brengen in de workshop- en seminarprogramma's.

Sound engineer Coen Thomas, known from André Rieu Studios, will tell us how he captures the sound of the large concerts and how his method is different from the classical recording techniques for orchestra.
Coen is working at André Rieu Studios for more than 15 years, and has built up a huge experience in recording instruments, individually and as an entire Orchestra. His way of recording is different from the standard orchestra recording techniques, and has a lot of overlap with band recording techniques in the studio. He will explain how he gets the result he wants combining the different ways of working. Next to this he will also give an insight in the different ways he mixes productions. He will show the difference between a Mix for CD, for live broadcast, and for cinema, and where the emphasis should be.
